Unlocking Cadillac CTS Radio (Hard-Drive/HDD) – Mail-In Service
Get Your CTS Radio Working Again—No Dealer Visit Required
If you’ve swapped radios or replaced your Cadillac CTS head unit and now see “LOCKED,” “THEFTLOCK,” or your audio/nav won’t function, the radio’s anti-theft system needs to be cleared and the VIN re-paired. We unlock and properly configure the hard-drive (HDD)–based infotainment units found in select 2008–2013 Cadillac CTS models, so everything works like factory again.
What This Service Fixes
-
- Theftlock / Radio Locked message after replacing the radio
-
- VIN mismatch when installing a used unit
-
- Audio features disabled (AM/FM/XM, Bose amp not turning on)
What We Do
-
- VIN Relearn / Theftlock Clear: Pair the radio to your CTS so it powers and functions normally.
-
- Configuration Match: Set options for Bose / non-Bose, amplifier presence, XM, Bluetooth, etc.
Compatible Vehicles & Units
-
- Cadillac CTS (approximately 2008–2013, incl. some CTS-V) equipped with HDD-based navigation/infotainment.
-
- Common radio PNs we see include 2285**, 259****, 209**** series** (varies by year/trim). If your label says HDD and the unit came from a CTS, we can likely service it. Unsure? Send a photo of the label.

FAQs
Will this work with any used CTS radio?
Yes—as long as the donor radio is from a compatible CTS generation (HDD-based). We will pair it to your VIN and configure options to your car.
Do you update maps?
We don’t sell map updates. Existing map data is retained.
The donor radio came from a different Cadillac model.
We recommend CTS-to-CTS donors. Other GM units may look similar but often require different configs and may not fully function.
Do I need to send the whole dashboard or screen?
No, just the radio chassis. If the screen/HVAC is separate, keep it in the car.
Warranty?
Our service covers the unlock/config work we perform. We can’t warranty pre-existing hardware faults (failed HDDs, bad tuners, liquid damage, etc.). If we detect a hardware fault, we’ll contact you before proceeding.
Important Notes & Disclaimers
-
- Legal: This service restores factory functionality for legitimate ownership/repair. By sending a unit, you affirm lawful possession and the right to service it.
-
- Hardware Failures: If the HDD or internal board is defective, unlocking alone won’t fix it. We’ll notify you if we find issues.
-
- Data: User presets may not be recoverable from a failed donor HDD.
-
- Shipping: Pack securely; we are not responsible for damage in transit. Consider insurance.
